Dead Island

Get your zombie survival kits out of the closet everyone and get ready to fight through waves of the undead horde in the open world action shooter “Dead Island”. It was just another beautiful day in paradise until a zombie outbreak causes wide spread disaster and destruction, now you have to fight your way through the endless wave of zombies that stand between you and getting off the island safe and sound. Players get to choose from four playable characters Sam B, Xian Mei, Logan Carter and Purna, each bringing to the table their own unique action skill that will greatly improve your chances of survival through the once peaceful island paradise. You can also upgrade these skills and others through “Dead Island’s” experienced based gameplay, players gain experience through killing zombies and from completing story campaigns and various side missions for those still trying to survive the zombie horde. As for combat characters have a variety of weapons to choose from, players are able to use melee weapons and firearms, sadly you’ll find yourself using melee weapons more do to the scarcity of ammo in the game. As you chop your way through your enemies though your weapons experience decay and will need to be repaired and workbenches and while you are there players can upgrade their weapons to prevent them from decaying as fast as they did before and increase the damage they deal. “Dead Island” takes it one step further and allows you to modify your weapons to do more damage or cause certain affects like attaching nails to your bat or electrifying your samurai sword and fry some undead brain munchers. Players will also find as they progress through the open world of “Dead Island” that zombies come in all shapes and sizes and won’t be so simple to take down such as the Thug, Ram and Suicider, if you weren’t having a tough time surviving before you will certainly be put to the test now.

“Dead Island” brings something new to the table in the world of zombie survival games which separates it from the hundreds of other zombie games available and creates something truly unique. While the main story may fall a little flat the incredible graphics work and zombie experience have you playing till the very end. With tons of quests in store, mod able weapons and build out characters to play, “Dead Island” makes for a highly enjoyable experience for the inner zombie killer inside each and every one of us.
