A card from Magic the Gatherings set "Mirrodin Besieged" is perfect for mil/poison/artifact decks. Cost 4 mana to play and 4 to activate its ability. 4 mana to cause 2 damage, 1 poison counter and take 6 cards out of a deck can be deadly. Add the plainswalker "Tezzeret the Seeker" +1 ability to untap 2 artifacts it makes a great combo in a blue/artifact deck.
Good:
-Pay 4 mana do 2 damage, 1 poison counter, and loses 6 cards from top of your opponents deck....whats not to like!
-Can be used in a wide range of decks not just one kind.
Bad:
-Without a deck that produces a lot of mana this card can be costly to play each turn.
