“Deus Ex” is a stealth action role-playing game and is third
installment to the Deus Ex series, this futuristic shooter breathes new life
into the role-playing universe and brings it back to life and with it hundreds
of different ways to play this gaming experience. “Deus Ex” comes with a main
campaign in which you take on the role of Adam Jenson who do to certain events
becomes and augment human with robotic enhancements which certainly come in
handy as you set out through the main story. As you progress through the game
the enhancements made to your body can be upgraded even further to where you
can assassinate someone with a hidden blade modification, break through weak
walls or increase your brains to interpret people’s emotions allowing you to
persuade them one way or another. The
game offers and interacting system where you can pick the words and actions you
take when talking to people whether or not you want to be nice and persuade the
people around you or go at things with force is up to you. “Deus Ex” offers a variety of different ways
to approach the way you play, you can be stealthy and duck in and out of places
without ever killing a soul or you can go charge head first into every
situation taking down anything that comes between you and your goal. While the
gameplay excels in offering a number of different ways to play the game, the
graphics throughout are lacking luster and may not be something you haven’t
seen before in games that came before, however “Deus Ex” does offer a creative
look into a possible future for the human race with futuristic weapons and
cities to explore.
The amazing story in “Deus Ex” holds through to the very end
and will have you going back for another play through just to see if a
different decision this time around could change things up from your first time
through. But if you are concerned about having to start of scratch with your
character all over again when you decide to go back for another play through,
no worries the upgrades made to your character remain when you go back for
more. So the only question is will you abuse what you’ve learned? Or will you
use it to make things better as the game develops, it is entirely up to you.
Good:
-Compelling story
-Multiple endings that will keep you playing for hours of
enjoyment
-Able to keep upgrades to your robotic body on other runs through
the game
Bad:
-Nothing new in the graphics department
