Bleach 579: THE UNDEAD 6

Zach Goodier

This week started off on a rather interesting note, with Gremmy's ending we finally glimpse the true extent of his power.  But no, this isn't a last attempt to kill Kenpachi, but a true glimpse at who (and what) Gremmy really is.  However, when the fight is done and Kenpachi turns his attention to where Yachiru disappeared to, he is quickly confronted by "The Female Knights," the close comrades of Bambietta from earlier in the arc.  I have been anxious to see what these sexy vixens can do, so it may be a chance to see what they're made of, but Kenpachi is just coming off of one major fight, is he truly prepared for another so soon?

I liked the twist with Gremmy, and how much he needed his own power to function. It is a similar theme to Juha Bach, the Quincy King.  Their power is the only thing that allows them to function in the first place, and without it they would ultimately be helpless.  It is a nice to see that angle worked in here as well, where a seemingly unbeatable power is wielded by a person who would truly be completely helpless without it.  It's a dynamic that I think works well, as it really personifies the need for power, and the result of giving it to a being that normally has none.
