AMV of the Week

Been looking for a good AMV of Blood+ that captures the mood of the Anime but haven't really found anything amazing that isn't just plain corny.  This weeks AMV is for the anime "Blood+" with the song "Forsaken" by Disturbed and Korn.  This AMV is one that is just simply dark and brutal that shows the darker side of the anime "Blood+".  However keep in mind it is not all that "Blood+" is about.  This AMV is a good combination of mood of song and the actual events taking place in the video.

Enjoy,

Anime opening of the Week

This weeks anime opening comes from the anime "Blood+", this particular opening is the third opening for this series.  I found this opening to be a good combination of tone of music with a type of art not normally seen in an anime opening.

Enjoy,
Scully

Lux Cannon

"Lux Cannon" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is just plain incredible, for 4 mana you get an artifact that for 3 charge counters destroys a target permanent, why not!!!  Combine this card with the ability of proliferate and you have one heck of a combo.  The best part about this card is the fact that you don't have to sacrifice "Lux Cannon" after destroying a target permanent, it is a continuous source of destruction.  Not to mention with all the artifact cards out there that help untap other artifacts or increase the number of charge counters on an artifact there are many ways to make "Lux Cannon" fast and deadly.

Great for artifact decks and proliferate decks.

Good:
-4 colorless mana to put on the battlefield making it great for any deck
-Ability to destroy target permanents
-Can create its own charge counters

Bad:
-A little slow to build up to 3 counters, but there are so many other cards out there that can get the counter number up to max in a turn its crazy.  Proliferate is an amazing ally to all cards with counters.

Shigurui

"Shigurui" is a 12 episode long anime that takes place at the beginning of the Edo era in Japan.  This particular anime follows two students of the Kogan style and there battle to see who will become the successor of the Kogan style.

This anime is dark and brutal!!  It can only be described as sadistic action combined with the amount of nudity a mild porno would use.  "Shigurui" is an anime that will disgust, frighten, and please the viewer all at different times.  This 12 episode long anime is also one that uses some deeper meanings in the themes behind certain episodes but these are some time overshadowed by the amount of weird/freaky stuff that happens within these episodes.  There is an underlying plot to this bloody story, however it becomes more clear in the later/middle episodes.  The very first episode is kind of confusing when trying to link it to the rest of the story however this piece will fall into place once the show gets going.  The ending of this series is also most unsatisfying, it is almost like the show was never completed at all.

Good:
-Action scenes were done well
-Plot developed and built upon itself
-Nudity....some times just plain unnecessary
-Characters had unique personalities

Bad:
-Weird and sadistic in violence and in character behavior
-What is going on in the show sometime is being explained while it is happening, kind of takes away from the scenes
-No real ending

Venser, the Sojourner

"Venser, the Sojourner" is from the "Scars of Mirrodin"set.  This plainswalker in particular is on that can just plain hurt if his final level is reached.  His +2 ability is different, exiling a permanent you own for a turn...ok for +2 why not, his -1 is very handy if you have a lot of creatures out, they are all now unblockable.  His -8 however really tips the scale in regards to a control deck.  Whenever you cast a spell exile target permanent, yes please!!!  In all this card has potential but at the same time some major drawbacks, if used with the appropriate combos it can be good.

Great for blue white control decks.

Good:
- His -1 ability can be helpful
- His -8 ability just make him

Bad:
-His +2 ability is a double edged sword, exile your permanent for a turn.
-Costs 5 mana: 3 colorless, one white and one blue.  Multi color cost makes it hard to put him in certain decks.

Scully Rating: 7 out of 10

Shrine of Burning Rage

"Shrine of Burning Rage" is a card from the "New Phyrexia" set.  This card is highly underestimated, for only 2 mana you can put this card onto the battlefield and let it build up.  At the beginning of your upkeep and whenever you cast a red spell you put a charge counter on it.  When you are ready pay 3 mana and sacrifice this shrine and you deal that much damage to target creature or player.  When playing a red burn deck this card is an amazing ally.  For 2 mana why not!!

Great for red decks, especially red burn decks.

Good:
-Only cost 2 mana to put onto the battlefield
-Builds up over time, and build faster when you play red spells.
-Only costs 3 mana to set off

Bad:
-Subject to destroy artifact spells, but what artifact isn't!!!

AMV of the Week

This weeks AMV is a combination of the anime "Full Metal Panic" and the song "Edge of the Earth" by 30 Seconds to Mars.  This AMV is different from most AMV I have seen for "Full Metal Panic", were this one just gives off a vibe of pure adventure and on the edge action/excitement.

Anime Opening of the Week

This weeks anime opening is from the anime "Dragon Ball", I found this particular opening to be just plain old-school as well as catchy.

Enjoy,

Norn's Annex

Norn's Annex is a card that is from the "New Phyrexia" set.  Norn's Annex is a card that can just simply keep an opponent from attacking you for a while and keep your plainswalkers safe at the same time.

This is great if you are facing an opponent that uses a lot of small creatures to attack you, or if you are just simply looking for a way to deter an attack from your opponent.  If your opponent is playing white however this might be a little less effective but effective none the less.

Great for white decks or any deck as long as you are willing to pay 4 life to play it.

Good:
-Causes your opponent to lose life and have to pay mana to attack you or your plainswalker per creature
-If you don't have the mana you can pay 4 life, which if you have a good white deck you should be gaining life anyways so 4 life is nothing.

Bad:
-Costs 5 mana to play, thats a little cost heavy especially for white

Scully Rating: 9 out of 10

Putrefax

"Putrefax" is a card from the 'Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is perfect for any infect deck, a 5/3 with haste, trample and infect.  Once your opponent is left open just drop a 5/3 and get half the poison counters you need on you opponent in one turn, even if he has a small creature to block you can kill it and still get poison counters on your opponent.

Great for poison decks.

Good:
-a 5/3 with haste, trample and infect

Bad:
-Creature dies at the end of your turn.
-Costs 5 mana a little expensive for a creature that only lasts one turn

Scully Rating: 7 out of 10

Liege of the Tangle

"Liege of the Tangle" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is one that just plain destroys when it hits.  An 8/8 for 8 mana with trample and whenever this creature hits your opponents all of your lands become an 8/8 green elemental creature and are still lands.  With trample you are almost guaranteed to hit the opposing player.

Amazing for any deck that uses green and produces large amounts of mana.

Good:
-an 8/8 with trample that turns your lands into more 8/8 creatures
-Trample, always good

Bad:
-Costs 8 mana to play, but for green that shouldn't be a problem

Scully Rating: 9.5 out 10

Asceticism

"Asceticism" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card has the ability to make it so your creatures can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control, this is amazing on its own but the most amazing part about this is the card allows you to regenerate target creature.  So for 2 mana you can regenerate any creature you have on the battlefield as long as this enchantment is in play.

Great for green decks and red/green decks.

Good:
-Regenerate TARGET creature
-Creatures you control can't be the targets of spells or abilities your opponents control.

Bad:
-Costs 5 mana but for green and this cards ability that is very acceptable.

Scully Rating: 10 out of 10

Spikeshot Elder

"Spikeshot Elder" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is one that just plain doesn't get enough credit.  "Spikeshot Elder" is a 1/1 for 1 red mana that has the ability to deal damage equal to its power to target creature or player for 3 mana.  This ability can be very useful in terms of indirect damage and not to mention if you simply put an enchantment on this creature to increase his power then for 3 mana he can be your most valuable ally.

Great for red decks and red/green decks.

Good:
-a 1/1 for 1 mana with that ability for red...why not!!!
-ability has the potential to get very big

Bad:
-requires a power boost to be deadly

Scully Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Koth of the Hammer

"Koth of the Hammer" is a card fro the "Scars of Mirrodin set.  This plainswalker is an amazing addition to red, his +1 ability allows for a used land to become a 4/4 creature till the end of turn, his -2 adds more mana to the mana pool, and his -5 ability allows for lands to deal 1 damage each time they are tapped to target creature or player.  This plainswalker is just what red needed, a way to get more mana and a way to deal direct damage to a  player or creature just by tapping land.  For only 4 mana you just can't go wrong.

Great for any red deck.

Good:
-Great abilities, powerful -5 ability
-Only costs 4 mana to play

Bad:
-Nothing

Scully Rating: 10 out of 10

Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon

"Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is just plain incredible, a 4/4 for 5 mana with flying, infect, regenerate, and if you pay its cost haste!!!  A flying infect creature is just plain deadly and every poison deck should have one, but adding Regenerate and haste into the mix on a 4/4.....that is amazing.  It is only fair that this creature is Legendary more than one on the battlefield is just too powerful.

Great for Infect decks and any black deck.

Good:
-Flying, Infect, Regenerate, and possibly Haste!!!
-Only costs 5 mana for all of that

Bad:
-Absolutely nothing!!

Scully Rating: 10 out of 10

Geth, Lord of the Vault

"Geth, Lord of the Vault" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is an amazing Legendary Creature card, a 5/5 that costs 6 mana with Intimidate.  But the real power behind this card is in its special ability, Pay 1 black mana and X mana, where you choose a creature or artifact with the converted mana cost of X from the opponents graveyard and put it onto the battlefield under your control tapped, then make you opponent discard X amount of cards from his/her library.  This is amazing not only are you getting a creature or artifact you opponent once used but you are taking cards from there library and throwing them into the graveyard.

Great for mil-decks, decks that summon creatures from the dead, and Black and Blue decks

Good:
-Intimidate is always good for any creature.
-Great way to mil an opponent's deck and get a creature or artifact out of it too

Bad:
-Card cost 6 mana to play a little expensive for black but for its ability rightfully so!

Scully Rating: 9.9 out of 10

Inexorable Tide

"Inexorable Tide" is a card for the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  This card is a permanent that stays on the battlefield until it is destroyed, allowing you to proliferate whenever you cast a spell.  This is amazing if you have a plainswalker, artifacts, creatures, or opponents with any type counters on them.  Proliferate allows you to choose any number of permanents or players with counters on them and increase each of them by one.  Just imagine if you opponent just got hit once with a 1/1 poison creature, then you don't have to hit him again just proliferate him to death.

Great for poison decks, and artifact decks with artifacts that use counters.

Good:
-Allows you to proliferate every time you cast a spell, amazing!!
-As an enchantment stays on the battlefield until it is destroyed, so it has a lasting effect.

Bad:
-Five mana drop, not bad at all but if playing a solid blue deck may leave you tapped out for a turn.

Scully Rating: 9.8 out of 10

True Conviction

"True Conviction" is a card from the "Scars of Mirrodin" set.  "True Conviction" is a card that can prove just plan helpful, giving all creatures double strike and lifelink is crazy.  Not only do you creatures strike twice from their normal attacks but you are also giving them lifelink, increasing your life total.  Great card but cost a little too much for a white deck.

Great for any white deck, especially if making large amounts of creatures is what you do.

Good:
-All creatures have double strike and lifelink...whats not to like!!
-Its an enchantment so it remains on the battlefield until it is destroyed

Bad:
-Costs 6 mana in total to play, a little expensive for a white deck.

Scully Rating: 9 out of 10

Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu

Buy "Fullmetal Panic: Fumoffu" at **Amazon**

"Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu" is a 12 episode anime side story to the show Full Metal Panic.  Fumoffu was written to take place between "Full Metal Panic" and "Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid" however has nothing to do with the plot of either seasons.  "Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu" is a Japanese classroom comedy/love story that involves the two main characters from the "Full Metal Panic" story line, Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori.

"Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu" has nothing to do with the original plot of the "Full Metal Panic" series and as a side story takes a different approach to entertainment.  This entire show is made to be a comedy and it does just that.  The random episodes that bring Sagara into situations that he doesn't understand causing him to react in a very military like manner make for a hilarious combination.  There is very little action/fight scenes in this show as opposed to other "Full Metal Panic" sets however as a class room comedy it makes for one hell of a good laugh.  Even though there is not plot to the story the show make up for it by keeping the viewer entertained.

Good:
-Maintains character personalities from original story line
-Jokes are always to the extreme and never out of taste
-Keeps the feel of the "Full Metal Panic" series

Bad:
-No plot
-Random episodes about different events

Scully Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Jyu-Oh-Sei

Jyu-Oh-Sei is an 11 episode long anime series that takes place in the future 150 light years away from earth.  Thor and his brother Rai return home one day to find there parents have been  murdered and then are kidnapped by the government and sent to a planet called Chimera, a planet were criminals are sentenced to live, and not to mention Chimera itself is anything but safe.
Jyu-Oh-Sei is an anime that is very deceiving, the first episode only sets the stage but not the tone for the rest of the series.  An anime based purely off of survival, and the will/reason to live.  The action that takes place in this series is heart stopping, you just never know how the fights will turn out.  There is a slight love story happening in the series however it really doesn't hit full realization until the later episodes.  The twists that take place in this series also add to the drama that only makes this series more lovable to the viewer.  In short this anime will hook the viewer and not let go until the series is over.

For fun if your interested look for the heavy referencing to Nordic Mythology in this anime, hint hint!

Good:
-Great action
-Amazing story line
-Characters that you just can't get enough of
-An ending that is sad yet at the same time an acceptable ending for the viewer
-One twist after another, never gets boring and can be unpredictable

Bad:
-Too short of a series!!!!!

AMV of the Week

This AMV is an amazing combination for a tribute to Vegeta from DBZ with the song "Death Before Dishonor" by Five Finger Death Punch.  I found it to be a perfect match, with song and character.

Enjoy,
Scully

Basilisk

Basilisk is a 24 episode anime that takes place in the year 1614 Japan.  The two ninja clans the Iga and Kouga are pitted against each other in a battle to the death to decide which grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu will become the next shogun.
Basilisk is an anime were if you watch the first two episodes you will just want to shut it off and never return to it.  The first episode makes you think it's a weird sci-fi version of ninja warfare via anime.  But only after getting through the first two episodes do you realize that there is actually a better bunch of characters that shown up after the first two episodes.  Also the fact that the characters in this show don't have normal ninja skills, more like super natural powers kind of gives off its own weird vibe at the beginning of the show but after a while you just accept it.
In the show the two successors of the two ninja clans are in love and because of this war between the clans to determine the next shogun their love is torn apart as the killing between the clans escalates.  This "love story" ads to the drama of the series and unlike most love based anime shows this one takes the plot and the action and ties the love story into it forming the actual vibe the show gives the viewer.
Basilisk is one of those anime that never stops surprising you even until the end, it will keep you guessing what will happen next.  Characters for the most part in this series are rich in personality and individuality, and help carry out the story line with adrenaline pumping action and heart felt drama.  In all this anime will just surprise you.

Good:
-Good story line that keeps the viewer guessing
-Rich Character personalities
-Heart touching drama
-Hard core action scenes

Bad:
-First two episodes are deceiving
-Random rape attempts (It helps the drama but come on that a little much)

Scully Rating: 9 out of 10

Triumph of the Hordes

Triumph of the Hordes is from the "New Phyrexia" set.  This card is a possible one hit kill card.  Giving all creatures till the end of turn trample +1/+1 and Infect!!!  INFECT!!!  A large number of creatures with trample and infect barreling towards an opponent can be catastrophic if not a one-hit kill.  Not to mention the fact that this card only costs 4 mana and for green that is nothing.

Great for any green deck that produces large amounts of small creatures, like Elf, Wolfs etc.
Also obviously great for infect decks.

Good:
-Gives all of you creatures trample and Infect!!
-Gives all creatures +1/+1

Bad:
-Like any good card, better hope your opponent doesn't have a counter spell or your big hit just got denied
-Only give all creatures +1/+1 (But that is only fair your using Infect!!)

Scully Rating: 9.5 out of 10

Black Blood Brothers

"Black Blood Brothers" is a 12 episode long anime that follows the story of an old blood vampire by the name of Jiro.  Jiro fought in a war called the Hong Kong crusades an earned himself a reputation as a great warrior, now he is heading to Japan with his little brother Kotaro, to a place known as the Special Zone.

This anime starts out with very little of the main character or the villains he is fighting being explained at all.  At the beginning of each episode the show takes a quick look into Jiro's past and then continues with the current day events.  As the show goes on still very little is explained about why things are the way the are now or how they got there.

The action scenes in this series are actually very good and thrilling.  The characters in this series are also very likable and rich with personality and enthusiasm.

The plot had a good idea going for it but just simply failed on the delivery/explanation on were they were coming from with it.  Honestly the only thing that makes this series  decent is the characters, the action and that attempt at a storyline.  But at the same time the sketchy storyline is were this anime fell apart.

Good:
-Great characters with very likable personalities!!!
-Awesome action scenes

Bad:
-Plot not really explained
-Past of characters which basically says "this is why the plot is the way it is now" never explained

Scully Rating: 6.5 out of 10

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid (Part 2)

Full Metal Panic The Second Raid is a 13 episode anime that is the direct squeal to the series Full Metal Panic.  The Second Raid continues of with the plot from the first season following Sousuke Sagara.

The action becomes more intense and Sagara's devotion to Chidori is put to the test.  This series does an excellent job by combining a love story with non-stop heart pounding action.  The villains in this series take the word evil to a new level that is creepy and sadistic.  Compared to the first season there is a little less laughter in regards to the romance portion of this series however the viewer will find the villains to take over the comic relief portion of the story.  The military action scenes are fantastic as to be expected from Full Metal Panic.  The ending of this series is also one that is only appropriate for any love story.  In all a fantastic sequel to an amazing series.

Good:
-Great action
-Rich character personalities
-Villains fit the series and provide comic relief
-A well though out plot that pertains to the first season
-Deep and thoughtful story line
-Love story was done well and not overbearing

Bad:
-Too short of a series, but show did not waste time getting to the point

Scully Rating: 9.8 out of 10

Sword of War and Peace

"Sword of War and Peace" is a card from the "New Phyrexia" set.  This card is not your average artifact equipment.  Giving equipped creature +2/+2 and protection from red and white is only a starter.  The fact that when the equipped creature deals damage to a player the "Sword of Peace and War" deals damage to that player equal to the number of cards in their hand and you gain life equal to the number of cards in your hand in a pretty cool thing.  Not to mention the cost to play this card is only 3 and 2 to equip.

This card is useful against red or white decks.

Good:
-Cheap mana cost
-Protection from read and white
-Damage dealing and life gaining ability if opposing player is hit.

Bad:
-Damage and life gaining ability is only possible if damage is dealt directly to your opponent
-Only provides protection against certain colors

Scully Rating: 7 out of 10

Anime Opening of the Week

This weeks anime opening is from the anime "Blade of the Immortal".  I found this opening to be rather dark, sad, and yet appealing at the same time.

Life's Finale

Life's Finale is from the "New Phyrexia" set.  Life's Finale is a card that basically wipes the field clean of creatures then allows you to take three creatures from your opponents library and send them to the graveyard.  This is a great since black is notorious for raising creatures from the grave.

Good:
-Destroys all creatures on the battlefield
-Allows you to pick three creatures out of your opponents library and discard them

Bad:
-Cost six to play

Scully Rating: 9 out of 10

Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur

Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur is a card from the "New Phyrexia" set.  Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur  is a card that is just pure evil in terms of power for blue.  This card has Flash which mean you can cast this card at any time you can cast an instant.  As long is it is out on the battle field your opponents maximum hand size is reduced by seven!!!

If used properly with the appropriate combination this card can be amazing.

Great for control decks.

Good:
-Each opponent's maximum hand size is reduced by seven!!!
-Flash

Bad:
-Costs 10 mana to play!!

Scully Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Karn Liberated

Karn Liberated in a plainswalker from the "New Phyrexia" set.  This card in particular is an amazing plainswalker that basically causes your opponent to exile cards from the game and with the -14 ability restarting the game and bringing all the exiled cards that this plainswalker exiled under your control on the battle field at the beginning of the game.

This is an amazing ability that can quickly turn a loosing games back around in your favor instantly, if you manage to reach his -14 ability.  Also the fact that this plainwalker is colorless allows for him to be put into almost any deck.

Perfect for control decks or white decks.

Good:
-A plainswalker that specializes in exiling cards and has an amazing -14 ability to make use of those exiled cards
-Colorless
-Has a +4 which makes it easier to quickly reach his maximum power

Bad:
-Costs 7 to play
-Problem with any plainwalker they are an automatic enemy target as soon as they hit the battlefield

Scully Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Anime Ending for the Week

This anime Ending comes from the anime "Black Blood Brother" I found this ending to be very beautiful as well as sad.  I believe this ending is one of the better anime endings that I have seen in a while.

Enjoy,
Scully

Melira, Sylvok Outcast

Melira, Sylvok Outcast is a card that is coming out in MTGs "New Phrexia" set.  This seems to me to be an major kick in the groin card, as many creatures in the Mirroden sets came with poison or abilities to give -1/-1 counters this card just simply says "no" to all of that.  For a green deck facing off against a poison deck this card is a must have.

Good:
-Eliminates an opponents ability to use poison or -1/-1 counters of any kind

Bad:
-Card is only useful against poison decks, other than that it is just a 2/2 for 2 mana

Scully Rating: 7 out of 10

Phyrexian Oblierator

Phyrexian Oblierator is a card that is coming out in the new "New Phyrexia" set for Magic the Gathering being released 05/13/11.  This card in particular caught my attention, a 4 mana costing 5/5 with trample and when a source deals damage to this creature that source's controller sacrifices that many permanents!!!  Talk about a good way to keep your opponent form attacking for a while.  Black has been hurting for good creatures in the last few sets to be released for MTG, poison being brought back breathed some life into black but not enough.  In all an incredible card for black.

Good:
-A 5/5 for 4 mana with trample....YES
-Causes opponent to sacrifice PERMANENTS if damage is done to creature, can be a game changer especially early on.

Bad:
-Nothing!!

Scully Rating: 10 out of 10

Decimator Web

A card from Magic the Gatherings set "Mirrodin Besieged" is perfect for mil/poison/artifact decks.  Cost 4 mana to play and 4 to activate its ability.  4 mana to cause 2 damage, 1 poison counter and take 6 cards out of a deck can be deadly.  Add the plainswalker "Tezzeret the Seeker" +1 ability to untap 2 artifacts it makes a great combo in a blue/artifact deck.

Good:
-Pay 4 mana do 2 damage, 1 poison counter, and loses 6 cards from top of your opponents deck....whats not to like!
-Can be used in a wide range of decks not just one kind.

Bad:
-Without a deck that produces a lot of mana this card can be costly to play each turn.

Scully Rating: 9.5 out of 10

Everflowing Chalice

Everflowing Chalice is a highly underestimated artifact that proves itself helpful when playing any color deck.  Its a 0 mana drop that can be kicked for 2, when it is kicked you can place one charge counter on it for each time it was kicked, and each charge counter represents one colorless mana that the artifact can tap for each turn.
With colors like red, black and white it is almost impossible to find mana acceleration for these colors.  Everflowing Chalice can give the player any number of extra mana depending on how many times it has been kicked.  The only down side to this card is that the mana is colorless.

Good:
-Mana acceleration for an color deck
-0 mana drop

Bad:
-Only produces colorless mana

Scully Rating: 7 out of 10

Drowned Catacomb

Drowned Catacomb is a perfect dual land for most dual colored control decks that run black and blue.  A dual land that does not have to tap when it comes into play as long as a Island or Swamp is in play is a huge asset to a blue and black deck.  Without green mana acceleration in a dual colored deck getting land out quick is hard to say the least, and even harder to get the right number of land that are the right color to play certain cards.

Good:
-As long as another Island or swamp is in play it does not have to tap
-Blue and Black is a great combo for control decks so half way decent dual lands with blue and black are essential.

Bad:
-If by some chance this is the first land you play in the game you have to wait another turn to play anything that const only one mana.

Scully Rating: 9 out of 10

Genesis Wave

A card that is highly underestimated by almost all green decks is Genesis Wave, with the more than sufficient mana acceleration that green uses this card can be an amazing way to set to tone on turn 4 or 5, using 1/1 elves that tap for mana on turn 1,2, and 3 or just by simply using a Rampant Growth you can place the next X permanents out on the battlefield that cost X or less.

Good:
-Great way to get X amount of creatures out fast
-Can be devastating early on in the game

Bad:
-Like all cards in a deck it is mana dependent, (However if you don't have enough mana acceleration with at green deck you are doing something seriously wrong)
-Situation Dependent

Full Metal Panic (Part 1)

Full Metal Panic is a 24 episode anime that follows a man by the name of Sousuke Sagara who is a member of a military organization known as Mithril.  Sagara is tasked with a mission to protect a girl named Kaname Chidori who attends a high school in Japan.  What Kaname Chidori does not know is that she is in danger for being a "whispered" or special person who has knowledge of the "black technology".  It is up to Sagara to protect Kaname from danger.

Full Metal Panic is an anime that is action packed, funny, and a romance story at the same time.  Sousuke Sagara is an elite soldier who has trouble blending into a Japanese high school while attempting to protect Kaname Chidori.  These parts of the series were Sousuke is at the high school are of course the most hilarious part of the series.  There are also parts in the series were Sousuke is called off to fight along side his fellow soldiers from Mithril and these action packed fights leave the viewer glued to the screen.  Right from the first episode the "romance" begins as signs of Kaname liking Sousuke arise.  This "romance" is referenced time and time again through out the series, and thankfully is in good taste and not too mushy.
Full Metal Panic has a story line has a main focus but at the same time will go off on random tangents to fulfill the side story of the "romance" between Sousuke and Kaname.  It is a good balance for those interested in military action and love stories.  Great anime for fans who are into the military.

Good:
-Good Action Scenes
-Rich comedy
-Rich character personalities
-Good balance between main plot and love story

Bad:
-Not a fan of love stories but for this particular anime it does a good job of giving the love story in doses.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (Part 2)

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 is the second chapter in the Code Geass series and follows the same story line and plot as part 1.
The final pieces are left on the board and the players are ready to make their move, Lelouch moves forward in this story of struggle and war.  Part 2 of Code Geass is just as intense and as unpredictable as Part 1, unlike most anime where the tone of an anime can be lost in a continuation, Code Geass continues on a straight path towards its original goal.  The non-stop action and unpredictability of the story line keeps the viewer glued to the screen and begging for more up until the very end.  The last episode of this series also does an excellent job of keeping the viewer on the edge of their seat until the last few minutes, unlike most anime endings that just put a cap on the story Code Geass finishes the story.  In all a very well thought out series that in the end gets the message across, but that message if for the viewer to discover on their own.  Good luck!

Good:
-Kept original mission of the series going in Part 1
-Well thought and planned out story line
-Edge of your seat action and drama
-An ending that you can be satisfied with

Bad:
-Once again I couldn't find a thing...
