Berserk

Berserk is a 25 episode anime that takes you into a middle age like world where you will follow a powerful swordsman named Guts in a war between two rivaling nations.  Guts early on in the story follows a mercenary band known as "The Band of The Hawk" and their ever charismatic leader Griffith.  The story line follows the bloody trail of war up until the last few episodes where you will be left second guessing who truly is the bad guy.  Berserk is an anime classic with much more to the story line than mercenaries killing in a war for money, throughout the story you will find that "The Band of the Hawk" is much more than a mercenary band, but a family searching to obtain a single goal.  

Good:

-Violence

-More than just action, storyline flows 

-an ending that will anger you and make you think at the same time

Bad/Weird:

-Series was not long enough

-Story ends in cliff hanger 

-Some characters you love others.....you get the picture.  

-First episode doesn't come into light until the end of the series
