Lets travel to a faraway land where monsters rule. We have Geinke, a
young boy who plays video games that involves monsters. After winning a
tournament he is given a new game and is sucked into the universe. Geinke and
his new-found friends have to go out and save the monsters of this odd land
from an evil monster, Moo. In order to save all the monsters from becoming evil
they must search for the monster disk that holds the phoenix.
“Monster Rancher” is a 73 episode anime that was made in
1999 and ran until 2001 in both the US and Japan. The show was based off of the
video games of the same name, where using a disc created a new and unique monster each time a new disc was inserted. The plot of this anime is for
the search of the mystery disc which is said to hold the phoenix. While Geinke,
Holly, Mocchi, and Suezo begin their search they run into new friends and new
allies in Tiger and Hare. But all searches cannot be easy; as the group searches, it is constantly running into villains and followers of Moo who not only want
the mystery stone but also want to take Mocchi away from Geinke.
Now this anime is not for everyone; aimed mostly toward
younger people, it is a great anime to begin your kids, niece, nephew or little
cousins watching. It will teach kids to be kind and courteous and that going on
adventures outdoors can be fun. For the older viewers above 16 it will mostly
be a reminisce of your youth but sadly you will find yourself more bored with
the show than anything because of how young the intended audience is for. None
the less, “Monster Rancher” is an ok anime and can be enjoyed by all ages, but
in certain doses. So from my TV to yours go out and enjoy
and help save a few monsters!

that will hit the heart
-Nice length to the
show doesn’t seem to end to soon but doesn’t drag
Bad:
-For the older
viewers can get annoying
